Czech Republic
Part of Czechoslovakia until the "velvet divorce" in January 1993, the Czech Republic has a rich cultural heritage. Czech Republic is a landlocked country in Central Europe and a member state of the European Union. The country has borders with Poland to the north, Germany to the northwest and west, Austria to the south, and Slovakia to the east. Tourists flock to savour Czech architectural treasures which include some of the finest Baroque, Art Nouveau and Cubist buildings on the continent. The hot springs of Karlovy Vary and other spas are also an attraction to many.
